Fire Damaged Your Roof.
Here's What Comes Next.
A fire — whether a kitchen fire that spread to the attic, a lightning strike, or a wildfire event — can cause damage that goes far beyond what's visible. The structural integrity of your roof decking, framing, and underlayment all need to be properly assessed before anything goes back on. We handle the full restoration from inspection through rebuild, documented for your insurance claim.
Fire Damage Is Different From Storm Damage — And Has to Be Treated That Way
Storm damage is surface-level — it starts at the shingles and works inward. Fire damage is the opposite: heat, smoke, and structural compromise often start from within before any exterior damage is visible. Charred rafters, compromised decking, melted underlayment, and smoke-saturated insulation all have to be identified and addressed before a new roof system is installed.
This is not a job for a patch and a tarp. A proper fire damage restoration involves a structural assessment, full documentation of all affected materials, complete tear-off of compromised areas, and a rebuild that meets current Texas building code. T-Rock's licensed crew handles all of it.
If your home was damaged by fire, your homeowner's insurance almost certainly covers the full cost of roof restoration — minus your deductible. The key is thorough documentation from the start. I'll make sure we get a project manager out to document everything properly before the insurance adjuster arrives.
What Fire Damage Restoration Covers
Structural Assessment
Before any new materials go on, the framing, rafters, and decking are inspected for heat damage, charring, and structural compromise. Compromised structural members are replaced, not covered.
Full Decking Removal & Replacement
Fire-damaged, smoke-saturated, or structurally weakened decking is removed and replaced with new OSB or plywood, properly nailed and inspected before covering.
Underlayment & Ice Shield
All underlayment in the affected area is removed and replaced. Ice and water shield is installed at eaves, valleys, and penetrations per Texas code.
Flashing Replacement
All metal flashing — chimney, step, counter, pipe — is inspected and replaced as needed. Heat-warped or compromised flashing is a common source of future leaks on restored homes.
Full Shingle Installation
New shingles installed per manufacturer specs, with proper nailing pattern, overlap, and ridge cap installation. Material choices matched to your home's existing profile where possible.
Insurance Documentation
Every item of damage is documented with photos, written scope, and material callouts before work begins — giving your insurance adjuster a complete picture and your claim a solid foundation.
How We Handle It — From Call to Completion
You Call or Text Logan
I respond same day. I'll get your situation and get a project manager out to your property as fast as possible — before you call your insurer if at all possible.
Full Damage Documentation
A T-Rock project manager conducts a thorough inspection — exterior and interior where safe to do so — documenting all fire, heat, and smoke damage with photos and a written scope report.
Insurance Adjuster Visit
Your project manager can be on-site during the adjuster's inspection to ensure the documented damage is fully accounted for. You file your claim — we make sure the scope is complete.
Emergency Tarping if Needed
If the roof is open to the elements and restoration is days out, we can install temporary tarping to prevent further water intrusion and additional damage to the interior.
Structural Repair & Rebuild
Once the claim is approved, T-Rock's licensed crew removes all compromised materials, makes structural repairs, and installs a complete new roof system — code-compliant, inspected, and warrantied.
